Diverse Portfolio Showcasing UX Creativity
A curated selection of my user-centered design work for apps and websites.
FloraFolio
A plant identification app design
FloraFolio combines all of the best features of similar apps on the market, without the restrictive paywalls, slow features, and inaccurate information.

My Role
Like the Raptor Portal, I completed every aspect of the design process for FloraFolio, including pre-design research, usability testing, and the final polished product. I studied the design architecture throughout the process, including studying user flows, interaction patterns, and information organization.

Goals
and Research
My main goal was to include as many features as the user desired without the downsides of some of FloraFolio's competitors. Some competitors have inaccurate information and a slow, confusing UI, while keeping these underwhelming features behind a paywall.
During my pre-design research, I found that a typical user for similar apps can be anyone from an advanced hiker to a beginner plant collector. Users wanted a plant ID app that had fast and accurate information without hidden paywalls.
I conducted two usability studies, one during the low-fidelity stage and one during the high-fidelity stage as well. I received feedback about blocks in my user flow, design suggestions, and feedback on what other features the users would like to see. I am continuing to iterate constantly to better benefit all types of users.

Results
FloraFolio is not only a plant ID app design, but FloraFolio also has features like saving users' favorite plants, creating watering and plant care schedules, and a search and community tab to learn more about plants.
Raptor Portal
For West Broad Elementary
The Raptor Portal is a design for an app and a responsive website for guardians to keep track of their students' lives in school. Features include grade and attendance tracking, tutor booking, teacher evaluations, and announcements. Guardians can also keep track of payments and fees!

My role
My role included everything from pre-design research and the design process to usability studies and the final product. I studied design architecture, including user flows, information organization, and interaction patterns.

Goals
and Research
Main goals for the Raptor Portal included providing enough relevant and current information for guardians, while maintaining a streamlined flow without any bugs or incomplete navigation.
My pre-design research found that guardians had complaints about school portals they've used in the past, including UI issues, technical glitches, limited features, and inconsistent notifications.
I conducted two usability studies, one with the Raptor Portal during the low-fidelity stage and one during the high-fidelity stage as well. I received feedback about blocks in my user flow and what other features they would like to see.

Results
The Raptor Portal is not only for grade tracking; other features include attendance tracking, fees and payments, real-time announcements, tutor booking, and many more features.
During the process of learning this whole field of UX, the most important piece of information I have learned is that a design is never finished! Iterating is a process that continues even after launch.
